Get Started↗︎When businesses ask how much Facebook and Instagram advertising costs, they often mix up two different costs. Let’s separate them.
1. Ad budget. This is the money that goes directly to Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) so your ads are shown. It is paid with your card, in your ad account, and you decide how much and when.
2. Management fee. This is the price of the agency or person who creates and runs the ads: strategy, targeting, copy and visuals, testing, optimisation and reports.
If someone offers you “an ad for €50” without saying how much of it goes to Meta, ask. You should know exactly what you are paying for.
The budget depends on your goal, your audience and how fast you want results. These are the amounts we recommend with each of our packages:
| Package | Management (monthly) | Recommended ad budget (monthly) |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | €200 | €150–300 |
| Growth | €350 | €300–600 |
| Scale | €550 | €500–1,000 |
The budget can be changed at any time, based on results.
The “Boost post” button is a quick way to promote a post, but it gives far less control than Ads Manager. In Ads Manager you can choose an exact goal (messages, leads, sales), test several ads and audiences at once, show ads to people who have already visited your website, and measure results with the Meta pixel. That is the difference between “an ad lots of people saw” and “an ad that brought clients”.
The first 2–3 weeks are for learning. We test different audiences, copy and visuals and see what brings results. Then the budget moves to what works. That is why it is a bad idea to switch ads off after a few days just because the first results were not perfect.
Before the first campaign you need a tidy Facebook Page and Instagram profile, an ad account with a card, and ideally a website for the ad to lead to. If you don’t have a website yet, read Do you need a website if you already have a Facebook Page?
